- 3 large tomatoes (or 2 cans crushed tomatoes)
- 1 tbs olive oil
- 8 garlic cloves (minced)
- 4 fresh basil leaves
- 2 tsp sea salt
Start by pouring the oil into a large pot with the stove's temperature on medium.
Add the minced garlic. Let the garlic sweat in the oil for a few minutes.
Dice or tear the basil leaves and add to the garlic and oil. Continue to sweat it for a few minutes.
If you are using fresh tomatoes, shred them in a cheese grater and add to the pot.
Otherwise, if you are using canned crushed tomatoes add them to the pot.
Add the salt.
Allow to simmer for an hour on low.
